Description

Let’s start from Piazza Duomo by visiting the majestic cathedral of Catania entitled to the Sant’Agata church in Catania.
We continue our visit in the square telling the legends and the story of the “Liotru”, the fountain of the elephant, and the underground river that flows at the fountain of Amenano or more sicilian called “Water or Linzolu”.
We then immerse ourselves in the colors, smells and sounds of one of the vital centers of the city: the Fish Market, where we will visit the remains of the door of Charles V; then we return to Piazza Duomo from Porta Uzeda.
We move in Via Vittorio Emanuele to visit the archaeological complex of the Roman theater and the Odeon nestled between the historic houses of the neighborhood.
We continue in one of the most beautiful streets of the city Via Crociferi. Here we will talk about the thousand legends that line the sides of this wonderful way.
We head towards Il Monastero dei Benedettini, a place steeped in history and culture, now home to the University of Catania and we will talk about the eruption that buried and destroyed part of the city. We continue towards Via Etnea passing through the University Square.
We then go up Via Etnea and head towards Via Manzoni where we will admire one of the hidden views of Roman Catania; we arrive then in Piazza Stesicoro and we will stop to talk about the second largest amphitheater in the world in antiquity.
Going up via Etnea to visit the largest public garden of the city: the Villa Bellini and then, we will stop for lunch to enjoy some Sicilian specialties in one of the historic bars of Catania.

We move, by car/ minibus, to the nearby village of Acitrezza here we will walk looking at one of the most beautiful seas of the city, admire the stacks of the myth of Ulysses and talk about legends and curiosities.

Kids (up to 12 years old): 80,00 €

The above prices are valid for a minimum of 2 adult participants and include tickets for the archaeological complex of the Roman Theatre/ Oden and the Benedictine Monastery and transport Catania/ Acitrezza and return.
